When your family keeps growing and you’re slowly running out of space, you might think that there is little else to do. However, it might just turn out that you have a whole spare area in your home that’s left unused, just waiting to be converted into something truly great. Your attic can turn out to be a great place for you and your family – depending on what you decide to do with it, of course. It doesn’t even matter what type of roof you have any more, as many companies offer low pitch roof windows, so you can enjoy all the views even if your roof is non-standard. Here are a couple of ideas to make your attic come to life

#1 A rustic master bedroom

Expose those beams hanging low over your floor, open up those walls to let in the view, and set up some wooden furniture – that raw, rustic type – to truly bring out the natural vibe out of your house. With some strategically placed light fixtures, as well as cloths, blankets, or rugs, you can make a bedroom that feels both wild and comfortable – an effect that would be hard to replicate in any other place around the house.

#2 Make every nook and cranny count

Think a sloping roof is a hindrance? Why not take advantage of it and make a bespoke bookcase that will have all the right angles in all the right places. If you’ve already got a bookcase, why not set up some cushions near a sloping roof for an effortlessly cozy reading area?

#3 There’s always room for a guestroom

If you’ve always dreamed of having your own hotel, your attic should give you plenty of opportunities to feel like that. Set up a guest bedroom with all the necessary amenities, including an en suite bathroom, and give your attic a unique identity of its own.
